Overview
Convert a time between 12-hour format (like 2:30 PM) and 24-hour format (like 14:30), in either direction. This is a pure format conversion - it doesn't touch timezones or dates, just the way a single clock time is written. Useful for converting a time from a schedule, itinerary, or system that uses one format into the other. Runs entirely client-side.
Best for: Converting a time from a schedule or ticket that uses a different format than you're used to
How to use this tool
- Choose a direction. 12-hour to 24-hour, or 24-hour back to 12-hour.
- Enter the time. e.g. 2:30 PM, or 14:30 for the 24-hour format.
- Read the result instantly. The converted time updates live as you type.
Frequently asked questions
No - this only converts the format a single clock time is written in (12-hour AM/PM vs 24-hour), not the timezone it's in. For converting a time across timezones, use the Timezone Converter instead.
12:00 AM (midnight) converts to 00:00 in 24-hour format, and 12:00 PM (noon) converts to 12:00 - the one part of the conversion that trips people up by hand, handled correctly here.
