Decoding happens in three stages: (1) Base64 alphabet and padding, (2) whether the decoded bytes form valid UTF-8 text, (3) parsing that text as tab-separated values with the same quote/escape-aware parser used by CSV ⇄ TSV Converter, so quoted fields (including ones containing literal commas) and empty cells are preserved correctly. Runs entirely client-side.

Overview

Paste a Base64 string or data URI to decode it as UTF-8 text and parse that text as tab-separated values, shown as an actual table. Parsing uses the same quote/escape-aware parser as the CSV ⇄ TSV Converter, generalized to the tab delimiter - quoted fields (including ones containing literal commas or newlines) and empty cells are preserved correctly. Errors are surfaced in three distinct stages: invalid Base64, valid Base64 whose bytes aren't valid UTF-8 text, or decoded text with no parseable rows. Runs entirely client-side; nothing you paste is ever uploaded.

Best for: Decoding a Base64-encoded TSV export into a readable table

How to use this tool

  1. Paste Base64 or a data URI. A data URI prefix is stripped automatically if present.
  2. Decoded to UTF-8 text. The Base64 string is decoded to bytes, then those bytes are decoded as UTF-8.
  3. Parsed as TSV. The decoded text is split into rows and fields on tabs, with quote-aware parsing.
  4. Shown as a table. Rows and columns render as an actual HTML table, not raw text.

Why use this tool

Quote-aware parsing

Quoted fields and embedded delimiters/newlines are preserved rather than naively split.

Real table preview

See rows and columns laid out, not just tab-separated text.

Three-stage error model

Invalid Base64, invalid UTF-8, and unparseable TSV are each reported with their own specific message.

Nothing leaves your browser

Decoding and parsing happen entirely client-side.

Frequently asked questions

The Base64 Decoder just returns decoded text as-is. This tool additionally parses that text as TSV and renders it as a table.

Yes - consecutive tabs produce empty fields rather than being collapsed, so column alignment across rows stays correct.
