Built with Unicode combining diacritical marks layered above, below, and through each character. Intensity is hard-capped in code, not just limited by the UI, so output can never exceed a bounded number of marks per character regardless of input.

Overview

Turn plain text into "corrupted" or glitch-style text by layering Unicode combining diacritical marks (the U+0300-U+036F range) above, below, and through each character. Three intensity levels control how many marks are added per character - Low adds 1-2 marks, Medium adds 2-4, and High adds 4-7 - and that range is enforced as an actual numeric cap in the underlying generation code, not just suggested by the interface, so output can never exceed a bounded number of marks per character regardless of what's typed. Input is separately capped at a few hundred characters, which keeps the corrupted output from ballooning into an unreadable, page-breaking wall of text even at the highest intensity. The original input is always shown alongside the corrupted output so you can compare them directly, and the corrupted text itself is never used as a button label, navigation item, or accessibility label anywhere in the tool's own interface. Runs entirely client-side.

How to use this tool

  1. Type your text. Enter up to a few hundred characters of plain text.
  2. Pick an intensity. Low, Medium, or High controls how many combining marks are layered onto each character, each with a hard cap enforced in code.
  3. Copy the result. Compare the original and corrupted text side by side, then copy the corrupted output.

Frequently asked questions

It's enforced in the generation code itself, with an independent absolute ceiling as a second safeguard - Low is capped at 1-2 marks per character, Medium at 2-4, and High at 4-7, and no input can push the output past those bounds regardless of length or content.

Combining marks stack per character, so uncapped input at high intensity could otherwise produce an extremely long, page-breaking string. Capping input at a few hundred characters keeps the corrupted output at a size that stays usable and shareable.

Yes - the tool always displays your original (possibly truncated) input directly above the corrupted output, so you can compare exactly what changed.

Yes - this tool is sometimes also called a cursed text generator or glitch text generator elsewhere; it is the same combining-marks technique described above, just under a different common name.
