Any text works - QR codes are commonly used for plain URLs, but also for Wi-Fi network credentials (using a specific "WIFI:" formatted string), contact details in vCard format, plain messages, or even short pieces of configuration data. Whatever you type into the input box is encoded exactly as-is.
