See the current time simultaneously across 11 major world cities - spanning the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia - in a simple glanceable grid that updates every second using the browser's native Intl.DateTimeFormat with each city's IANA timezone. This is a genuinely different tool from timezone-converter: that tool answers "what time does this specific date/time I'm entering become in other zones," while this one answers a simpler, live question - "what time is it right now, everywhere" - with no input required at all, just an always-current reference. A simple sun/moon indicator next to each city gives an instant visual sense of whether it's roughly daytime or nighttime there, useful for quickly gauging whether it's a reasonable time to reach someone. Daylight saving time is handled automatically and correctly for each zone via the same Intl API, so the displayed times stay accurate year-round without any manual offset adjustment. Useful for a distributed team checking who's likely awake right now, or just a quick glance at what time it is somewhere else in the world. Runs entirely client-side.

The 11 cities are curated to give a representative geographic spread across every major populated region and time offset, kept deliberately small so the grid stays glanceable rather than becoming a long scrollable list. This tool doesn't currently support customizing the city list - if you need a different specific pair of timezones, timezone-converter's source dropdown covers additional zones.
It's a simple heuristic based on local hour - roughly 6am to 7pm shows a sun, and the remaining hours show a moon - meant to give a fast, rough sense of whether it's daytime or nighttime in that city, not an astronomically precise sunrise/sunset calculation. It's a convenience cue for questions like "is it too late to call this person," not a scientific tool.
